The Story of the Little Computer That Could!

On September 16, 2026, members of the extended 9825 development team met to celebrate the 50th year since HP announced the 9825A Desktop Computer. The reunion was organized by John Keith and took place at the Grimm Brothers Brewery, located at 815 14th St SW. For anyone who worked at HP in Loveland, that’s a very familiar address because it was HP’s Loveland address for several decades. The site hosted three division during the 1970s: the Loveland Instrument Division (LID), the Civil Engineering Division (CED), and the Calculator Products Division (CPD) which was renamed the Desktop Computer Division (DCD) towards the end of that decade.

The former HP campus has been transformed into the Forge Campus Technology Park and Grimm Brothers Brewery is located in HPs former building B, on the south side. That’s where the HP cafeteria was long ago. Just outside, you can still see the volleyball court, although the net is gone.

Below are some photos of the reunion taken by attendees.
